Musculoskeletal disability can have a significant impact on the quality of life for many people, and according to NHS England, more years are lived with these issues than are with any other long-term condition. So, we believe it’s important that all absence insurance policies offer support for these.
Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are classified as conditions which affect the nerves, tendons, muscles and supporting structures, such as the discs in your back. They can have an impact on numerous parts of the body including the hands, wrists, elbows, neck, shoulders, lower back, hips, ankles and feet. And, without treatment, can cause prolonged pain which could be detrimental to your staff members’ ability to do their jobs.
While we hope your staff continue to feel fit and healthy during their time with you, we are able to provide access to a number of services to help diagnose, treat and alleviate the source of any musculoskeletal pains.
- Craniosacral therapy
- X-rays and scans
What are the benefits
When your staff choose to go through our musculoskeletal services, they will be able to claim £200 per year to use on these therapies for themselves. Typically, this should cover the cost of between four and five sessions of treatment, and this can be topped up independently by them should they need more.
For extra convenience, we also allow staff to choose their preferred time and place of treatment. So, they can easily work around their daily school schedules and any other commitments they may have to consider.
